So, having spent the past week and a half touring the Netherlands, hitting up everything and even gritting my teeth and delving into Amsterdam, I bet you're thinking, "wow, you must have taken some great photos, Helen! You've been to palaces, 13th century cathedrals, beaches, canals, museums — seen the tomb of Willem of Orange, the tallest point in the country, the dijks of Zealand, the place where the king was crowned — and you even went to the zoo!"
And you would be absolutely correct, I reply as I pack to go home tomorrow. In that spirit, I have assembled the best of the lot, just for you, right here and now.
( coffee, friets oorlog, turkish pizza in nijmegen; bread with butter and pâté in ridderkerk (breakfast); tiny pepsi in delft; hot dog from HEMA, friets met frietsaus and a kroketten (and tona's kip-thing), grapefruit & white chocolate icecream, cherry beer, paprika crisps and a frozen coffee, strawberry tart, bento box, all on my maastricht food tour; coffee in utrecht; softie in rotterdam zoo; i'll post actual photos when i'm back in the states! )
